Double Feature Workshop

Morning Workshop -

Strategies for Supporting LGBTQ Youth

This workshop will cover a range of topics related to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) students in school settings. Dr. Kennedy will cover risk and protective factors, legal issues, counseling strategies for working directly with LGBTQ youth and parents, and identifying community based resources. Attendance qualifies for 2.5 CEU hours.

Afternoon Workshop -

Applying and Interviewing for Jobs Successfully

Attendees will receive strategies for writing cover letters and resumes, applying and interviewing for paid school psychology positions, and other secrets/tips to impress potential employers. Presenters include professionals who have worked in the field and who serve on hiring committees and interview panels. Attendees will receive practice interview questions and have an opportunity to receive feedback on their resumes. Presenters include Dr. Michael Keller of the Garden Grove Unified School District, Libby Barnish, Intern Coordinator for Green Dot Public Schools and OCASP Past President, and Jenna Downey of Garden Grove Unified School District and current OCASP President.
